Charlie was born and raised in the backwoods of Montana. He grew up outside of Helena, and spent his days fishing, wakeboarding and roaming the shores of Canyon Ferry Lake. Winters were spent on the slopes of the small local hill, Great Divide, where he learned to snowboard almost 20 years ago. After going to school for engineering at Montana State University, Charlie moved to Boise, ID to experience life outside of Montana. Idaho couldn’t hold him for long as a few years later he moved to Bend to chase deeper pow and bigger trout. It was in Bend that he found my love for photography and splitboarding. Charlie considers himself lucky enough to call Bend his home for almost 7 years and has found his happy place whenever he’s in the backcountry with his camera in hand. Charlie works as an engineer for a research company when not stomping through the woods.
This winter, Charlie plans on pushing his splitboarding and photography to new heights by bagging new peaks and chasing storms across the PNW. He always makes a pilgrimage back to Montana to ride and he is also hoping to explore new terrain in the Sawtooth Mountains in Idaho where he received his AIARE I certification last year. Pray For Snow!
